PRIVACY NOTICE.

Who we are

The IC Report is run by Jessica Roberts, a trading name of Jessica Roberts Communications Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 13521326. We decide how your personal information is used, so we are the "controller" of it under UK data protection law.

If you have any questions about this notice or your information, contact us:

This notice explains what we collect when you visit our website or join the waitlist, why we collect it and what your rights are. We've written it in plain English. If anything isn't clear, just ask.

What information we collect

When you join the waitlist, you give us:

  • your name

  • your work email address

  • the name of your organisation

  • your role

  • whether you've agreed to receive updates from us, and when you agreed

When you visit our website, our website platform (Wix) collects some technical information automatically. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you found us. Some of this is collected using cookies (see the Cookies section).

When you email us, we receive your name, email address and anything you choose to include in your message.

We collect this information directly from you. We don't buy contact lists, and we don't ask for any sensitive information.

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

Data protection law says we need a valid reason, called a "lawful basis", for each way we use your information. Here's ours.

Sending you updates about The IC Report, including when places open.
Information we use: your first name and work email.
Why we’re allowed to: consent. You ticked the box to say yes, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Understanding which organisations and roles are interested.
Information we use: your organisation and role.
Why we’re allowed to: legitimate interests. It helps us plan the launch and send you relevant information, with very little impact on your privacy.

Keeping a record of your consent.
Information we use: your email, and the date and time you agreed.
Why we’re allowed to: legal obligation. We need to be able to show you agreed.

Replying when you contact us.
Information we use: your name, email and message.
Why we’re allowed to: legitimate interests, so we can answer your question.

Keeping the website working, secure and improving it.
Information we use: technical and usage information.
Why we’re allowed to: legitimate interests, plus your consent for any non-essential cookies.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it to make automated decisions about you. You don't have to give us any of it, but without your name and email we can't add you to the waitlist.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with trusted services that help us run the website and the waitlist. They can only use it on our instructions:

  • Wix, which hosts our website and stores waitlist sign-ups.

  • MailerLite, which we use to send you updates.

  • Any professional advisers, e.g. our accountant or IT support, only if needed.

We'll also share information if the law requires us to.

Information stored outside the UK. Some of these services store or access information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK's approved data transfer contract clauses. You can ask us for details.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details until The IC Report launches and for up to 12 months afterwards, so we can tell you when places open. After that, if you haven't become a client or asked to keep hearing from us, we delete them.

If you unsubscribe, we delete your details but keep your email address on a "do not contact" list, so we never email you by mistake.

We keep emails you send us for up to [2 years]. Wix keeps technical website information for its own set periods, which are explained in Wix's privacy policy.

When we delete information, we remove it from our systems securely.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use two kinds:

  • Essential cookies, which the website needs to work and stay secure. These are always on.

  • Analytics cookies, which tell us how people use the site so we can improve it. We only use these if you agree in our cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time by clicking the Cookie icon at the bottom of the screen, or by changing your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you

  • ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete

  • ask us to delete your information

  • ask us to limit how we use it

  • object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests

  • ask for your information in a format you can take to another organisation

  • withdraw your consent at any time

To stop hearing from us, click "unsubscribe" in any email we send, or email hello@theicreport.com. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email us. It's free, and we'll reply within one month.

Concerns and complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've used your information, please contact us first at hello@theicreport.com so we can put it right.
